This is our second time participating in the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Festival and we are so excited! We will have a booth set up both days and will also be participating in the PAW’ER DOG WALK (2k) on Saturday morning.

PAW’ER DOG WALK INFORMATION (Saturday, February 15, start time 8:30am):
Lunar New Year Celebration, the 2k walk will wind through the Los Angeles State Historic Park, and will conclude near the Chinatown Gate, Dr. Sun Yat Sen Statue, and other historic and cultural landmarks Course ushered by students and artwork from the Los Angeles campus of the KIPP: Academy of Opportunity, created under the direction and guidance of local art teacher Karen Nakashima. Proceeds from the event are donated to local animal rescue organizations. *Note: The PAW’er Dog Walk course is subject to change. Please continue to check back for course updates.
RULES FOR DOG OWNERS:
Dogs must be well-behaved and non-aggressive with people and other dogs
Dogs must be on leash at all times, no exceptions. Please bring a flat leash that is no longer than six (6) feet. No extendable/retractable leashes will be allowed
Dogs must be current on all vaccines
Please do not bring puppies who have not completed all their shots
Only one dog is allowed per walker
The person walking the dog must be 18 years or older. While children may walk alongside dogs, no children may hold the leashes to the dogs on race day
Please set a good example and pick up after your pet. Extra poop bags will be available, as well as trash cans
Hot Snack and beer are for human participants
SPECIAL NOTICE: Please bear in mind that your pet will be exposed to a variety of situations and noises: including loud firecrackers during the opening ceremony at 7:30am, small excited children, barking dogs, loud music, people speaking loudly on microphones, and crowds clapping and cheering. There will not be any firecrackers after the opening ceremony. You know your pet best. Please use your best judgment to determine whether he/she can handle the excitement of the celebration and the duration/length of the walk.
